Italian freight forwarder to add Konecranes mobile harbour crane to terminal
Campostano Anchor, part of the Campostano Group (CG), is set to update its existing fleet at its terminal in Savona, northern Italy by adding a Generation 6 Konecranes Gottwald ESP.6 Mobile Harbor Crane.
Ordered in December 2022 and set for delivery in June 2023, the crane will be used for âgeneral cargo and bulk material handlingâ.
Gino Gherri, Regional Sales Manager of Port Solutions at Konecranes said: âWeâre excited that Campostano Group has chosen to add a Generation 6 Konecranes Gottwald Mobile Harbor Crane to their terminal fleet. Weâve worked with CG for over 30 years, and they trust our ability to meet their changing requirements with high-quality equipment that follows local standards and lifts their business into the future.â
This particular model of crane has a working radius of 49m and a lifting capacity of 125 tonnes. It uses Konecranesâ hybrid drive technology, âwhich comprises an EU Stage V diesel engine paired with an ultracapacitor that can be recharged by energy recovered from lowering and braking motionsâ.
Owner and Chief Executive of CG, Ettore Campostano, describes the crane as an âeasily adaptable, high-performance hybrid solution that will bring a new level of productivity to [CGâs] terminal while helping [CG] to cut [its]carbon emissions and fuel consumptionâ.
Alongside the machinery, Campostano Anchor will use software from Konecranes to monitor and maintain the crane. TRUCONNECT Remote Monitoring, accessible on the yourKONECRANES customer portal, collects and displays data from the mobile craneâs control systems and onboard sensors. It can track safety-related incidents, critical faults, and operating statistics to give operators a better idea of how the crane is functioning and allow them to âeffectively implement predictive maintenanceâ.
Ettore Campostano adds: âdigital services will give us insights into our craneâs performance and condition data to streamline its operation and maintenance.â
Konecranes (Stand r410) will be exhibiting at Robotics and Automation 2023, which will be co-located with IntraLogisteX 2023. To attend to visit for free or find out more, visit www.intralogistex.co.uk or www.roboticsandautomation.co.uk.
