Kärcher installs 967 solar panels at its Banbury HQ

Kärcher’s Banbury headquarters will enhance its environmental performance through its 967 solar panels and solar funding model.

The company has taken a step towards increasing its environmental performance throughout its supply chain by installing almost 967 solar panels on the roof of its Banbury headquarters with a funding model, to reduce its reliance on the National Grid.

The panel technology was provided by NextEnergy Capital and Zestec, who deployed their “Power Purchase Agreement” model.

By using the model, host properties can expect a reduction in carbon pollution.

Kärcher will generate 44% of its annual electricity consumption through the solar array, and over the next 25 years, the solar panel system will contribute to carbon emission reductions and major cost savings.

Mark Venner, COO at Kärcher, said: “This project forms the cornerstone of this ambition at our headquarters and has enabled us to understand our energy demands more fully to manage the energy we generate and use.”

Ross Grier, MD of NextEnergy Capital, said: “We know that the retail and distribution sectors are going to need to become more energy efficient in the coming years as we adapt to reduce our impact on climate change.”
