KLG Europe consolidates position within Poland traffic

KLG Europe (Netherlands) cooperates with Pekaes Group in Poland

The Dutch logistics company KLG Europe and the Polish logistics group Pekaes have exclusively been cooperating in Dutch-Polish land transport since 15 September 2009. They jointly organise several departures per day between the Netherlands and Poland. Both partners are striving to expand their market position in general cargo and less/full truck transports on the routes from the Netherlands to Poland and return.

The cooperative unites two efficient partners. KLG Europe has 600 employees and acts as a medium-sized logistics group in European-wide load and general cargo business as well as in contract logistics. In addition to its headquarters in Venlo the enterprise operates Dutch locations in Rotterdam and Eersel. More stations are situated in Bradford (UK) and Beijing (China). KLG has a particular important foothold in eastern Europe. The enterpriseoperates an own general cargo network with six locations in Romania. The locations in Bucharest, Constanza, Craiova, Cluj Napoca, Timisoara and Tirgu Secuiesc are planned to be integrated into the partnership with Pekaes in the next stage. Moreover, KLG has a solid network of agents in further eastern European countries, including Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and some CIS countries.

Pekaes employs 1,200 persons at 17 locations in Poland, which makes it one of the biggest providers of logistics services in this country. The company operates a national distribution network with a maximum transport time of 24 hours. Despite the economic crisis the enterprise recorded a growth in turnover since the beginning of this year amounting to 20 per cent, compared to 2008. Like KLG Europe also Pekaes generates a major part of its turnover by rendering logistics services to customers from the electronics and chemical industry.
