Lucas Systems introduces solutions tailored to Gen Z warehouse workers

Warehousing solutions provider Lucas Systems has announced a new range of technologies designed specifically to cater towards the ‘Gen Z warehouse workforce of the future’.

Amongst the new solutions is what the company calls ‘the world’s smallest wearable mobile computer’, which can run its voice-enabled optimisation suite, Jennifer. Lucas Systems is also introducing a new console for overseeing management responsibilities that reportedly lets users customise data, dashboards and analytics, as well as new machine learning technology which it claims can reduce worker travel within the warehouse by up to 50%.

Targeted at assisting workers born from 1997 to 2012, Lucas Systems’ latest products are deliberately modelled after technology that Gen Z are comfortable with using day-to-day. It hopes that its new offerings will ease the stress and physical toll of carrying out manual labour on the warehouse floor, while supporting supervisors with data and analytics.

Ken Ramoutar, Lucas Systems’ Chief Marketing Officer, said: “Gen Z workers expect to use modern technologies like they use at home.

“Handheld and personalised, tech must be easy to use and must help them save time and mitigate exertion.”

Data from a new report by Lucas Systems revealed that 73% of Gen Z warehouse workers expect robots to help them achieve greater accuracy and speed in their jobs.
