Planning for the new site, known as A1 West, is expected in the Spring with construction expected before the end of 2022. The hybrid application includes details proposals for the infrastructure works and strategic landscaping as well as outline proposals for the three development plateaus.

An indicative masterplan envisions five units with footplates ranging from 300 – 725,000ft2. All the buildings will be built to BREEAM Excellent.

The scheme is expected to generate about £7 million in annual business rates as well as providing around 5,500 jobs

Newlands is also seeking to work with local colleges and job centres on training and apprenticeships to ensure local people have the right skills to secure the jobs.
