Online retailer snaps up Heathrow shed

On-line electrical retailer AO World has signed a ten-year lease on a 33,500 sq ft warehouse at SEGRO’s Axis Park in Heathrow.

The site will be used to distribute domestic electrical appliances in London.

David Ashwell, group logistics director, AO World, said: “We were looking for a facility from which we could distribute our range of domestic electrical appliances to our customers. The unit needed to have good access to motorways and transport links into the city and West London, to allow us to fulfil our customers’ orders quickly and efficiently. Axis Park is an excellent location and ticks all the boxes; we look forward to moving in and becoming fully operational next year.”

Axis Park is located at Junction 5 of the M4, close to Heathrow Airport with direct access to West London and the national motorway network. AO World will be joining existing occupiers DHL, Royal Mail and Smiths News at Axis Park.

Letting agents on the park, which is now fully let, were Savills, Dohertybaines and De Souza.
