Pepperl+Fuchs to demonstrate new industrial vision sensors and turnkey solutions at Robotics and Automation 2022!

At Robotics and Automation 2022, Pepperl+Fuchs will introduce a raft of new industrial vision sensors and turnkey solutions as part of a portfolio of application-specific, customised and universal vision products.

Utilising 2D and 3D vision technologies, such as time-of-flight and stereo vision, as well as laser light section technology, Pepperl+Fuchs says almost all vision tasks in the areas of detection, identification, measurement and positioning can be solved with high reliability.

Developing industrial sensor technology and explosion protection for more than 70 years, the company offers a range of sensing and positioning solutions designed to support conventional and Industry 4.0-capable applications.

For conveyor technology, industrial communications, lidar and miniature sensors will all be on show on the Pepperl+Fuchs stand, as well as live demonstrations of key technology for efficiently monitoring conveyor belt activity.

This includes the company’s G20 module, which now includes IO-Link connectivity to control powered conveyor rollers. As visitors to the Coventry Building Society Arena can learn, the module comes with connections for both sensors and rollers and offers parameterisable speed settings on-the-fly.

Also set to be showcased, the company’s contour 2D solution offers cost-efficient detection of conveyor belts with reliable shadow effect correction due to a high angular resolution of 0.042° and a scan rate of up to 50Hz.

For automated storage and retrieval technology, Pepperl+Fuchs exhibits at Robotics and Automation 2022 will include lidar technology for precise laser measurement, easy touch-teach setting and highly configurable and flexible on-the-fly parameterisation via IO-Link.

Visitors searching for a solution to position gantry cranes or overhead conveying systems can learn more about the company’s linear positioning readers, which utilise 1D and 2D codes, while Pepperl+Fuchs latest RFID products will also be on display for those interested in identification technology, including long-range UHF readers, which now offer up to 4m read/write field and multiple tags in field options enabling asset tracking.

What’s more, for those seeking autonomous vehicle sensing technology, the company’s safePGV positioning system will be featured at the stand to demonstrate absolute positioning. The sensor has been designed to provide all values for reliable steering and ensure the minimum distance between automated guided vehicles (AGVs), guaranteeing the safety of people working around such robots.

According to Pepperl+Fuchs, its safePGV positioning system is the only product on the market that offers a combination of navigation, tracking and position feedback of AGVs in one device.

Finally, for industrial truck technology, the company will demonstrate its USi-safety ultrasonic sensor system, which detects objects using sound instead of using a laser, while also being resistant to dirty environments.

Pepperl+Fuchs (Stand 210) will be at Robotics and Automation 2022 on 01-02 November at the Coventry Building Society Arena. For more information, or to register to attend now, visit www.roboticsandautomation.co.uk.
