Petrol shortages in France disrupt deliveries
Strikes in French oil refineries, led by trade union CGT, have resulted in petrol shortages across the country, causing delays on the roads.
The strike began on 27th September and workers at two major energy companies in France, TotalEnergies and ExxonMobil, continue to take action, demanding wage increases to cope with the increasing cost of living.
This has caused a shortage of petrol around the country, with Agnes Pannier-Runacher, France’s Energy Transition Minister, suggesting that up to 20% of petrol stations have been affected.
There have been several reports of long queues for petrol stations where fuel is still available. This has led to disruptions on the road, impacting road transport and deliveries.
