Raben Group puts focus on Turkey and the CIS

Due to the growing customer interest in the East region, the Raben Group has established the new company Raben East sp. z o.o. The company focuses on international road haulage, in particular regular groupage connections to eastern countries such as Russia, Turkey and Kazakhstan. In addition, Raben East offers customs office as well as consulting services.

“The interest of western customers in Eastern markets is growing. However, the prevailing transport and logistics requirements differ significantly from European business. They demand a high degree of flexibility as well as extensive knowledge about customs operations and country-specific requirements,” Raben Group states in a press release.

The head office of the newly founded company is located in Robakowo near Poznań. Other branches are in Grodzisk and Gleiwitz. The entire European network of the Raben Group is used for the distribution and consolidation of the shipments. Raben East will serve countries such as Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

“The elimination of customs barriers in the European Union means that complicated customs procedures, such as those still existing in the countries east of the Polish borders, are less significant,” says Bartłomiej Łapiński, Managing Director of Raben East. For this reason they had decided to found a company focused on this.

The regular groupage links to the Eastern economic regions are of particular interest to two customer groups: On the one hand for those companies that want to standardise their shipments there, and on the other hand for business people looking for new sales markets and just starting to establish themselves in this area.

With more than 85 years of experience, the Raben Group is one of the leading logistics companies in the markets of Central and Eastern Europe. In 2016, the group’s sales exceeded EUR 1 billion. The company in private ownership manages more than 1.15 million m² warehouse space in many European countries. The fleet comprises 7,000 vehicles, the staff counts 9,500 employees.
