RCG is bundling its intermodal rail products in TransNet

The intermodal division of the Rail Cargo Group (RCG) is expanding its wide range of services in Europe and beyond. The European rail logistics group has just established three new links between the Netherlands and Hungary, Austria and Nothern Italy as well as Turkey and Poland. This increases the RCG network to 35 high-frequency routes.

With immediate effect, all rail products will be bundled in the TransFER, RCG’s strong and comprehensive network.  The rail products with up to daily scheduled international connections can be found at www.railcargo.com/transnet.

– TransNET – The whole network from Europe to Asia and thus all TransFER connections available to customers.
– TransFER – All train products, both intermodal and conventional.

The new TransFER Vienna-Piadena launched in late September 2018 adds two weekly round trips to RCG’s southbound-service. This will not only allow the two economic regions to network, but also provide direct rail links between the markets of Northern Italy and eastern Austria, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, as well as Romania and Bulgaria.

The Budapest-Rotterdam transfer with two weekly rotations between Hungary and the Netherlands was added to the network in early October 2018. As a major European port, Rotterdam is considered to be a major transportation hub for both imports and exports. The bimodal terminal BILK in Budapest is the largest terminal in Hungary and offers transshipment from road to rail.

With one weekly run between Poland and Turkey since October 2018, RCG is also expanding its offerings to and from Istanbul. TransFER Lodz-Istanbul provides direct access to Halkali, Turkey’s most important international cargo terminal. Last but not least, Istanbul is a crucial freight transport hub on the southern Silk Road for transports between Europe and Asia.
