Roland Spedition: New intermodal connection from Linz to Koper

Roland Spedition, headquartered in Schwechat near Vienna, adds a new block train connection from Upper Austria to Slovenia to its portfolio. The train will run from the calendar week 3 in 2018 three times a week – on the weekdays Monday, Wednesday and Thursday – from Terminal Linz to Luka Koper exclusively in export, the container-operating-specialist notifies in a press release.

“We take the market conditions into account and respond to the needs of the Austrian market,” says the release. In addition, customers still have the option of using the existing intermodal train from Terminal Enns via Graz to Luka Koper and vice versa.

As an intermodal transport operator, Roland Spedition, founded in 1982, is the link between the respective shipping company or forwarding agency and the customer as well as the shipper. The 100 percent independent family company now organizes about 100,000 container transports, which is over 150,000 TEU per year.

The main transport axis is the connection of the major European seaports such as Hamburg or Bremerhaven to the most important terminals in Austria such as Vienna, Salzburg, Linz/Enns and Graz. Furthermore, the forwarding company also has connections to the western ports (Rotterdam, Antwerp) and the Adriatic ports (Trieste, Koper, Rijeka). In addition, there are further connections to Switzerland and the neighbouring EU states Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and numerous other destinations throughout Europe. Roland is not only responsible for the container transport to the inland terminal, but also for the operation of the “last mile” either by truck or train.
