Royal Mail planning new state-of-the-art delivery hub in Brighton

Royal Mail is planning a new state-of-the-art parcel delivery hub in Brighton on a derelict site in Patcham.

The move comes as parcel volumes have soared and the existing hub in Brighton is no longer fit for purpose.

The site, part of the former Patcham Court Farm, was subject to an Environmental Impact Assessment Screening Report in July last year where consultancy Barton Willmore proposed the demolition of the existing agricultural buildings, breaking up of hardstanding at the site and construction of up to 48,437ft2 of warehouse space including a mezzanine, ancillary offices, ancillary vehicle wash, means of access, parking, drainage, landscaping, and other associated works.

Royal Mail is currently carrying out a consultation with the local community. Planning for the site is expected to be submitted shortly.
