Second occupier for new Icon Harlow logistics development

SOP International, a specialist importer and distributor of Asian and Oriental foods,  has taken a 69,872 sq ft warehouse at Stoford Developments and TPG Real Estate’ joint venture Icon Industrial’s Icon Harlow scheme in Essex.

Work on the highly specified building, which contains 59,909 sq ft of warehouse accommodation and two-storey Grade A offices of 9,963 sq ft, was recently handed over for the occupier to complete their fit-out.

David Chattwell, managing director of SOP International, said: “The company has outgrown its current headquarters in Hertford and requires larger premise to cope with the increased level of growth and business. We greatly look forward to moving into Harlow and its new state of art offices and warehouse.”

Two additional units will complete later this year as part of phase one of the development. Unit B will be a 96,826 sq ft building with three storey offices and Unit C will deliver 68,100 sq ft of warehouse space with two storey offices. Each unit has up to 50m yard depths and 15m minimum clear height.

Icon Harlow can deliver up to 300,000 sq ft of accommodation in its second phase, on a build to suit basis.

Icon Harlow is close to London Stansted Airport, M11 and M25 and the new DP World London Gateway Port. Several high-profile occupiers are already based nearby, including DHL, FedEx, Wincanton, GSK and Bunzl.

Joint letting agents are Jones Lang LaSalle, DTRE and M1 Agency.
