Two more last mile delivery stations for Amazon

It will open a 111,831ft2 delivery station in at Proxima 111 in Central Avenue, Thurrock which will create up to 50 permanent jobs and more than 100 driver roles when it opens in autumn

“Delivery stations power the last mile of our order process and help speed up deliveries for customers,” said a spokesperson for Amazon.

“Packages are shipped to a delivery station from neighbouring Amazon fulfilment and sortation centres, loaded into delivery vehicles and delivered to customers.”

The second hand facility was being marketed at £10.50 per ft2 through DTRE. It has 3MvA of power as well as 11 dock and two level access doors. The self-contained building has 10.5m clear height.

Kerry-Anne Lawlor, country director for Amazon Logistics, said: “We are excited to continue to invest in the Thurrock area with a new delivery station that will provide efficient delivery for customers, and create new jobs for the talented workforce.”

The other delivery station will be at St Modwen’s St Modwen Park Gatwick near Crawley where the internet retailer is believed to have secured a 96,875 ft2 design and build facility subject to planning. Quoting rents at the scheme have ranged form £13.25 – 14.25 per ft2.

Amazon secured a 42,524ft2 facility on Goya and Hillwood’s North Gatwick Gateway only last year. Letting agents were DTRE, FTD Johns and SHW.
