Waberer’s orders 100 Kögel Mega Rail with RoRo equipment

Waberer’s, a leading owned vehicle operator within the European international full truck load (FTL) segment, has decided to break new ground and chose a new trailer manufacturer. With a truck fleet expansion and order of 100 Kögel mega-trailers, the company is expanding its modern truck fleet with commercial vehicles with the smallest possible ecological footprint. For this reason, Waberer’s has decided to use Kögel multi-modal trailers.

These mega trailers are suited for classic standard tasks and high-volume transport applications. With a clear internal height of three meters, the trailers are ideal for the just-in-time business in the automotive sector. The mechanical-hydraulic lifting roof, which is part of the standard equipment, increases the lateral and rear transfer height to more than three meters. The mega-trailers are certified in accordance with DIN EN 12642 Code XL.

The trailers designed for multimodal transport are equipped with a reinforced chassis frame. The gripper edges integrated into the frame, a gripper jaw tarpaulin protection and special axles in a rail design allow loading of the trailers onto rail transport. The 100 Mega Rail are designed for flexible loading onto the most common rail pocket wagons. Trailers for unaccompanied boat and ferry transport feature optional RoRo equipment.

On Kögel Mega Rail trailers, the entire vehicle frame is given long-lasting protection against corrosion by nano ceramic technology and cathodic dip-paint coating, supplemented with a coat of UV varnish. “We at Waberer’s, are dedicated to innovation, and by adapting to changing market needs and conditions, we grow constantly, to which our partners, such as Kögel are also contributing with their expertise every day”, said Ferenc Lajkó, CEO of Waberer’s International.

Waberer’s is a leading owned vehicle operator within the European international full truck load (FTL) segment of the transportation market measured by own fleet size and a leading logistics service provider in Hungary as measured by revenue. The company provides transport services for customers throughout Europe. With its modern fleet of over 3,500 trucks and an average vehicle age of 2 years, Waberer’s reached close to 450 million kilometers on the roads of Europe in 2016. The company employs about 6,500 people, and its domestic logistics capacity exceeds 150,000 m2 of modern warehouse space.

Kögel is one of the leading trailer manufacturers in Europe. Since it was established in 1934, the company has manufactured more than 500,000 trailers. The company headquarters and main production facility of Kögel Trailer GmbH & Co. KG are located in the Bavarian town of Burtenbach.
