MEG Group is set to launch its first UK water processing, bottling and distribution facility in the UK to serve supermarket giant Lidl.

It has pre-let a 538,195 sq ft facility at Clowes Development’s 200-acre Dove Valley Park near Foston in the East Midlands

The planning application was submitted to South Derbyshire District Council and approved by the authority’s planning committee in December 2019. Work has been scheduled to start in the summer of this year.

The facility will become the first production plant in the UK for the MEG Group. Once set up, the facility will supply Lidl with mineral water and soft drinks for its supermarkets across the UK and Ireland.

Last month the Clowes Developments reported a full planning application for a 190,000sq ft industrial/distribution warehouse with ancillary office had been submitted for Plot 4 at Dove Valley Park. The development of the land will involve major infrastructure investment that will benefit the remaining 40 acres of development land, which is available on a design and build basis.

Joint letting agents are Salloway and MWRE.
