The training and support association of forwarding AUSPED is backed by the union of private employees, printing – journalism – paper, and the Austrian association of forwarding and logistics, the legal representation of all Austrian freight forwarders in the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKÖ). Together, they want to fight the strained personnel situation and attract more young people to future-oriented jobs in the freight forwarding industry.
Alfred Wolfram, chairman of the forwarding and logistics association: “Many young people have completely wrong ideas about working in a freight forwarding company. We do not only offer attractive salaries and great advancement opportunities, but also a very exciting workplace with a wide range of tasks. ”
In order to gain a first insight into the profession, the homepage www.gibdirdenkick.at offers specific information about the profession. In addition to potential new apprentices, there are also people who are already in education and second-chance support. “Based on exercise questions from various areas of the forwarding business, for example, apprentices can prepare for their exams and expand their expertise through a multiple-choice test,” explains Alfred Wolfram.
This possibility goes beyond the PC. Alfred Wolfram: “The way of learning has changed massively. The ‘Generation Z’ is extremely mobile and really grew up in a digital world. That’s why we want to offer flexible learning – also on the mobile phone, where it’s available at any time and location. “
The forwarding and logistics association of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce represents the interests of the approximately 1,800 Austrian freight forwarders. These make a significant contribution to employment and prosperity in Austria: The freight forwarding industry creates around 25,000 jobs, of which 961 are apprentices.
