XPO Logistics expands network in Spain

XPO Logistics has expanded its network in Spain with the opening of a multi-modal hub in Vigo, Galicia. The 32,292 sq ft (3,000 sq m) site doubles the 3PLs facility space in the province of Pontevedra.

The new site is equipped with 22 cross-docks to support XPO’s domestic and international freight transport, including less-than-truckload, groupage and full truckload, as well as last mile service. XPO’s last mile service specialises in the home delivery and installation of heavy or bulky goods.

Massimo Marsili, MD, transport – Iberia, at XPO Logistics, said, “We’re using our extensive last mile expertise to help retail and e-commerce customers build loyalty through a superior consumer experience. In addition, we now have a larger springboard for increasing capacity across the many other sectors we serve.”

XPO has three hubs in Galicia, serving more than 1,000 customers in the food and beverage and automotive sectors. All of XPO’s sites in Spain consume 100 per cent renewable electricity.
