Yodel partners with ProGlove to rollout wearable scanners

Yodel has selected wearable barcode scanner supplier ProGlove, to improve visibility, scan control, and productivity across 50 locations in the UK.

Yodel has so far acquired 1,000 units of ProGlove’s MARK 2 glove scanners to augment trailer loading and service centre sortation.

The company has initially seen up to a 50% reduction in loading time for drivers on the shop floor as the new Yodel and Driver Courier App, and its ‘Under The Roof’ shop floor App, have been integrated with the MARK 2.

The MARK 2 scanner comes with haptic, audible, and visual feedback helping flag any scanning errors to the employee, sustaining a loading speed of up to four seconds. The scanner also weighs 40 grams meaning it is up to 15 times lighter than a traditional barcode scanner.

Carl Moore, Chief Operations Officer at Yodel said: “Not only did ProGlove help us increase our service visibility and control of parcels across the business, but it has also reduced the shop floor time of our colleagues. The ProGlove team have been great from day one, always on hand to support us and answer any questions and very pro-active on trials.
