ZF and Transco enhance their cooperation

The medium-sized logistics provider Transco, headquartered in Singen, Germany, and the technology group ZF Friedrichshafen AG are intensifying their cooperation. Transco takes over transports between Germany and Italy for ZF. ZF was convinced by Transco’s approach of crossing the Alps mainly by rail transport.

The Italian specialist Transco handles transports from Italian suppliers to several ZF plants in Germany, from ZF plants in Germany to customers in Italy, and between German and Italian sites within the group. Shipments of all sizes are transported, from single pallets to full loads.

Also in the past, Transco has been a logistics partner for the Italian transports of ZF’s headquarters in Friedrichshafen. The expansion of the cooperation to almost all German plants doubles Transco’s sales volume with its customer ZF. Transco is also investing into ten tractor units and 20 craneable trailers for its customer ZF.

“We are proud that we were able to enhance our cooperation with the large and demanding customer ZF,” explains Christian Bücheler, Managing Partner of Transco Süd Internationale Transporte GmbH. The medium-sized logistics group has 30 locations in eight European countries and has 580 employees, 200 of them at their German headquarters in Singen.

What convinced the customer ZF in the past and also now, led to this enhanced cooperation: the approach of Transco to cross the Alps mainly by rail. Since 1998, Transco has been a shareholder of HUPAC, Switzerland’s leading combined transport operator.
