Lehnkering: New warehouse for dangerous goods in Hedemünden

Lehnkering’s warehouse for dangerous goods at Hannoversch Münden to accelerate goods distribution of Wessels + Müller in Germany and neighbouring countries

The logistics and production services provider Lehnkering has started operating a new warehouse for dangerous goods in the district of Hedemünden in Hannoversch Münden. The company will provide warehouse, handling and picking services for Wessels + Müller, a vehicle parts wholesale firm. The two companies have been working together for many years. So far they have been processing the orders at the Lehnkering business location in Schüttorf.

The new warehouse for dangerous goods has the capacity to accommodate approximately 5,000 pallet spaces; and it has handling and preparation areas with generous dimensions. It is also available for other customers to use. The property, which is owned by Lehnkering, is located right next to the new Wessels + Müller logistics centre. Proximity to customers and its location at the heart of Germany with direct links to the A7 motorway enable the company to supply any goods ordered by 6 p.m. at one of the more than 90 sales outlets of Wessels + Müller or at other customers’ premises across Germany or in neighbouring countries the next morning after they have been delivered overnight.

“The warehouse logistics division for the chemical industry is developing very well. The new warehouse for dangerous goods is an important milestone in further developing our network of business locations,” says Uwe Willhaus, CEO at Lehnkering GmbH.

“When we made the decision to move our central warehouse to the south of the German state of Lower Saxony, we wanted to establish the logistics and picking operations in the immediate vicinity in order to optimise transport distances and processes. We have found a competent and reliable partner in Lehnkering, which already has the necessary expertise in our product segment through our long-standing, joint cooperation arrangement,” says Peter Reimann, Logistics and Organisation Manager, Wessels + Müller AG.
