Specialist for customs handling Star Sped GmbH fell insolvent

Fraud case breaks the neck of Star Sped GmbH (Suben/Upper Austria); the company can no longer meet its current payment obligations

On 23 October the bankruptcy proceedings about the assets and liabilities of Star Sped GmbH (previous Star Sped Höpfl GmbH) based in Schnelldorf/Suben were opened at the regional court Landesgericht Ried im Innkreis. Established in 2004 the company has been dealing with customs clearance and various forwarding services. The insolvency was announced by the Alpenländische Kreditorenverband (AKV).

The reasons for the insolvency include a case of fraud in 2012 and 2013, resulting in the loss of a high six-digit amount. Compensation claims showed no success. Attempts to reach out-of-court settlements with creditors failed.

Total liabilities amount to EUR 1.2 million. In the file for insolvency debts of EUR 600,000 are assumed. The company had six employees at last, and shall be closed and liquidated.
