AAWW deploys two more B747-400 freighters for DHL Express

Atlas Air Worldwide (AAWW) has announced an agreement to place two additional Boeing 747-400F aircraft into express network ACMI service for the benefit of DHL Express, beginning in March.

AAWW’s president & CEO William Flynn commented: "This placement reflects the continuing growth of DHL’s global express business and our proven ability to support customer growth initiatives by delivering global operating scale and consistent service excellence."

He added that the two additional 747 freighters that are going into service for DHL are incremental to the six 747-400Fs through which AAWW currently provides express network ACMI service to DHL.

AAWW’s Atlas Air, which provides outsourced airport-to-airport wide-body cargo solutions, will operate the aircraft for its sister company Polar Air Cargo Worldwide, which serves DHL and other customers.
