AB Texel acquires bulk segment of Van den Bosch Germany

AB Texel (Netherlands) will take over the feed activities with blower tipper trucks from Van den Bosch Transporte GmbH in Salzgitter.

The take-over is a welcome extension of already existing feed activities for AB Texel. “AB Texel is a strong player in the feed transport business in the Netherlands and Belgium”, manager Harry Geraets of Van den Bosch Transporte GmbH explains. “By taking over our activities for the feed industry, it will also introduce and extend these activities in the German market.”

Van den Bosch Transporte GmbH will focus on silo truck activities mainly used for the food industry. “The bulk transport market increasingly requires a specialised approach”, says Harry Geraets. “We made the strategic choice to focus on our existing tipper truck and silo truck activities and expect to be able to grow there.” He sees AB Texel as a suitable and much appreciated party for the take-over of the feed activities. “I am convinced that our people and activities are in good hands with AB Texel.”

AB Texel has been in business since 1925 and was initially incorporated in The Netherlands. Today its UK fleet of 65 units and over 150 trailers transport a wide variety of bulk agricultural and other products across the UK and a large number of European countries on a daily basis direct from the grower to factories, processing plants and storage facilities. The company has invested in the most up to date lightweight tractor units. This lowers the combination tare weight of tractor and trailer enabling us to carry up to 4 extra metric tonnes of gross load, to a maximum of 31 tonnes which provides the following benefits to our valued customer base:
