Amazon to generate 3,500 new UK jobs

Amazon is planning to generate 3,500 UK jobs this year in total – an additional 1,000 on the 2,500 announced in January 2016.

The online retailer said the new jobs will be part of the ‘preparation for the festive season’ – this will include resourcing Amazon’s Prime Now delivery service.

“We are creating thousands of new jobs to continue to deliver the experience our customers know and love during the festive season and beyond,” said Doug Gurr, UK country manager, Amazon. “We are hiring for all types of roles from software engineers, computer programmers and corporate managers in our R&D centres and head office, to operations managers, engineers, service technicians, HR roles and order fulfilment roles in our fulfilment centres.”
