AMI Perth moves

The Perth (Western Australia) division of AMI – the world’s largest airfreight and express trade-only wholesaler – has relocated to new premises on Airport Park 1, adjacent to the airport’s freight forwarding community.

The new facility, located just minutes away from the airlines’ cargo terminals, more than trebles the company’s warehousing space, while increasing office accommodation and providing easier access and manoeuvring for customer vehicles.

The move was made necessary by steadily-increasing business, says AMI’s Manager – Western Australia, Aaron Wigg:  “Space had become very tight in our previous location, and we were operating over capacity.  With these new premises, we will be able to operate more efficiently and continue to grow our business.”

AMI Perth has installed an Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) machine – the only one outside the cargo terminal – and can now offer an ETD security screening service to the local Perth freight agent market.

AMI’s Perth base handles both air- and ocean freight, builds and breaks down containers, and handles deliveries to, and collections from, the airport’s cargo handling terminals. The company provides linehaul and project capacity to and from all key destinations in the world, to accommodate the needs of the dominant local mining sector.
