APL Logistics opens CFS in Bangladesh
APL Logistics has opened its 114,000 sq.ft Container Freight Station near Chittagong Port – the busiest seaport in Bangladesh. The CFS is one of the largest consolidation facilities in Bangladesh. APL Logistics said the station’s location and operation will improve transit time efficiency for shippers and contain costs. Just 6 km from Chittagong Port, the facility is located near two special economic zones: the Chittagong and Karnaphuli Export Processing Zones. The freight station replaces two other locations that APL Logistics previously shared with competing logistics providers. The new station, which will be used only for APL Logistics‘ customers, features cross-dock and consolidation facilities, 48 receiving bays, trucking capabilities, advanced security features and value-added services such as barcode scanning.
