APM Terminals wins Callao port concession

APM Terminals has been selected to run the Terminal Muelle Norte in the port of Callao in Peru.
 

APM Terminals Callao will invest US$749 million to transform the facility into a modern multi-purpose terminal for containers, general cargo, ro/ro cargo, breakbulk and cruise ships.

At full capacity, the terminal will be able to handle 2.9 million TEU and 9.9 million tons of non‐containerised cargo.

APM Terminals is active in several Latin American ports, projects and inland terminals:

  • Argentina: the T4 container terminal at the Port of Buenos Aires.
  • Brazil: Teconvi at the Port of Itajai, the Pecém reefer port, and Brasil Terminal Port Portuario (BTP) in Santos – scheduled to be operational in 2013.
  • Costa Rica: the Moin Container Terminal (TCM), scheduled to open in 2016.
  • Inland Container Terminals and transportation services throughout Latin America in Peru, Costa Rica, Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador and Mexico.

Globally, APM Terminals in involved in fifty ports and 122 inland facilities in 64 countries.
