Balmer enters new dimension of wind power with Goldhofer

Super-Hub, a quad telescopic platform semitrailer of Goldhofer, enables Balmer forwarding to transport rotor blades with more than 65 metres length

The Balmer Spedition und Lkw-Service GmbH based in Holthusen near Schwerin will use the most innovative vehicle concept designed to transport wind power plants. As the world’s first special hauler the company will use the quad telescopic platform semitrailers called Super-Hub by Goldhofer AG (Memmingen/Germany).

The transport novelty can be telescoped to a total vehicle length of 58 metres, thus allowing for the transportation of rotor blades more than 65 metres long. In addition the Super-Hub offers extreme balance in the goose-neck as well as in the chassis. This helps overcoming obstacles on the transport route easier and faster.

“With its Super-Hub Goldhofer meets exactly the requirements of this industry. I am glad we have held back our investment and are now the first to use this innovation in vehicle construction“, says the managing associate Eckart Balmer. Following the first successful operation of the vehicle the Balmer forwarding company has already placed an order for two more vehicles of this type.
