CEVA wins contract to manage Lavazza’s supply chain in Spain and Portugal

CEVA Logistics has been awarded a contract by Lavazza, a global coffee production company, to manage the distribution of its product throughout Portugal and Spain.

Lavazza will have an area dedicated to its operations in a multi-user warehouse located on the outskirts of Barcelona, Spain. CEVA will manage the inbound logistics for goods arriving from Lavazza’s factory in Italy, as well as storage of all products before onward delivery to customers in Spain and Portugal. CEVA is already responsible for the logistics operations at the Italian central warehouse in Turin.

Giuseppe Chiellino, Managing Director of CEVA in Iberia, said: "We are delighted with the signing of this new contract. The confidence that Lavazza has placed in CEVA is proof of the excellent solutions we provide in this sector, of the high satisfaction with the services we already provide to our customer in other countries, and that we always strive to deliver impeccable service."

The processes will be controlled using CEVA’s Matrix technology platform, specifically the Warehouse Management System (WMS), which manages all warehouse activities. The WMS is part of a suite of Matrix technologies that allows CEVA to manage the entire supply chain. The warehouse operations will be integrated with another Matrix technology, the Transport Management System (TMS), which will support the distribution of coffee to outlets in Spain and Portugal.

Lavazza is one of the largest coffee producers worldwide with a 48% share of the retail market in Italy and also owns the Café di Roma network in Spain.
