Da capo for Panalpina’s “Dixie Jet“ service

Panalpina and Atlas Air extend their air freight cooperation

The global forwarding and logistics group Panalpina and their longstanding air freight partner Atlas Air have renewed their cooperation agreement. Within this framework Panalpina provides own-controlled capacity between Europe, North America and Mexico. The capacity of the service called “Dixie Jet” is sold and offered by Panalpina while the Boeing 747F freighter aircrafts are operated by Atlas Air.

The “Dixie Jet” service offers five frequencies per week. The service comprises three flights from Luxembourg to Huntsville and vice versa and two flights from Luxembourg to Huntsville, Mexico, Huntsville and back to Luxembourg, with a stop-over in Prestwick, Scotland. In Luxembourg, Panalpina offers a self-controlled connecting airfreight service to West Africa, thus connecting the most important oil & gas centers Houston, Aberdeen, Moerdijk (NL) and West Africa.

Particularly customers from the oil & gas industry benefit from this unique offer, which is also very popular among global and SME customers from the hi-tech, health care (pharmaceuticals and chemicals) and automotive industries. Established mainly for pharmaceutical products, the cooling facilities both in Luxembourg and Huntsville, permit a seamless door-to-door cool chain.
