DB Schenker Logistics investing in Austria and on the Balkans

Continuous construction works: DB Schenker builds a new logistics centre in St. Pölten and expands its location in Klagenfurt for customers in Carinthia

DB Schenker Logistics Austria is launching two construction projects in September – in St. Pölten and Klagenfurt. The first turn of the sod for has been made recently for a logistics facility in Lower Austria’s capital. A 5,000 m² covered warehouse and a 2,000 m² cross docking station will be built on the 34,000 m² premises. The object shall start operation in autumn 2015. The investment totals about EUR 9 million.

In Klagenfurt DB Schenker Logistics is implementing the construction of an additional building for its existing forwarding facility until June 2015, for an investment of EUR 2 million. They plan to establish a 645 m² hall and a 225 m² loading bay. From mid-2015 the company takes over feeder transports, storage, picking and sequenced supply of the production of customers like Infineon, a manufacturer of semiconductors in Carinthia.

By the end of August also the first turn of the sod was made for a new logistics centre close to Belgrade. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology the new facility will supply customers from the electronics, automotive and consumer goods industries in particular, with customised logistics solutions from early 2015. In Croatia DB Schenker triples its capacity: They will open a new logistics centre in Zagreb in 2015.
