DHL and Shanghai Lingang Group sign MOU

DHL Global Forwarding (China) has signed a Partnership Agreement with state-owned enterprise Shanghai Lingang Free Trade Port Economic Development Co, under which the two parties will jointly develop supply chain solutions and logistics service for customers in the Yangshan Free Trade Port Area and Shanghai Lingang Industrial Area.

"The strategic location and development roadmap for Shanghai Lingang Group is an excellent fit with DHL’s direction of providing integrated services to customers, particularly for fast-growing Chinese companies in developing international business," said Steve Huang, CEO of DHL Global Forwarding (China).

Based on Shanghai Lingang Industrial Area’s industry focus, the partnership will focus on supporting customers from the aerospace and heavy equipment manufacturing sectors.

According to Alfred Goh, senior vice president & global head of Fast Growing Enterprises at DHL, the company will partner Shanghai Lingang Group to jointly approach customers to optimise and design their logistics network when importing or exporting out of China key ports.

The Shanghai Lingang Industrial Area is integrated with the Yangshan Free Trade Port Area. It is next to Shanghai Yangshan Deep Sea Port and is 25 km from Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
