EC Logistics now offers warehousing for biopharmaceuticals
No entry without protective clothing and new safety measures in the rebuilt cool warehouse for pharmaceutical products of EC Logistics in Wörgl
The EC Logistics GmbH offers a new service for highly sensitive products. At their location in Wörgl, Tyrol, they offer an option for storage and issue of biopharmaceuticals of the pharmaceutical industry with immediate effect. Biopharmaceutical are medicines containing active substances that are produced with high technological efforts. For this kind of articles 300 pallet slots in the temperature range from 2 °C to 8 °C are now available in Wörgl.
As the storage of biopharmaceuticals requires a high level of safety and hygiene, the cool warehouse of EC Logistics was rebuilt, to meet the standards of the pharmaceutical industry. Separated from the other warehouse zones, special safety measures apply in the new area.
Special attention is paid to avoiding cross-contamination of the biopharmaceuticals and other pharmaceutical substances. Thus, the warehouse may not be entered without wearing protective clothing to ensure compliance with the hygiene and cross contamination regulations. Designated client guidelines ensure that all movements are controlled in this area and work smoothly.
Since last December all national and international contract logistics activities within the ÖBB group are restructured and joined under the new EC Logistics umbrella brand. As a full-service provider, the company offers classic transport logistics for parcel shipments, general cargo and industry-specific transport solutions for part and full loads across Europe. Warehouse logistic services and outsourcing logistics along the entire supply chain complete the offering. This results in an annual turnover of around EUR 200 million.
