Eddie Stobart wins Morrisons deal

Eddie Stobart is to provide transportation services from two undisclosed distribution centres for supermarket chain Morrisons.

In a statement Stobart said the contract was in additional to the work that it currently carries out on behalf of Morrisons.

The new three year contract will see Eddie Stobart manage all transport planning and deliveries of chilled and ambient groceries from the two locations to Morrisons’ supermarkets.

William Stobart, executive chairman of GWSA (the owner of Eddie Stobart) said: “This further enhances our existing relationship with Morrisons and is testament to our current performance.  It is excellent news for Eddie Stobart and strengthens our position in the marketplace as the leading transport provider for the retail and consumer sectors”
