Emons takes over its long-time US Partner Global Fairways Inc.
On January 1, 2018, Emons Spedition acquired a majority stake in Global Fairways Inc., based in Detroit (USA). The former owner, Mrs. Lori Fleissner, will keep her position as President of the Board and hold shares in the company, the German transport and logistics company states.
Global Fairways Inc. has been a long-standing partner of Emons Air & Sea GmbH in air and sea freight business, and has five locations: In addition to its headquarters in Detroit, the company has offices in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles, as well as Dubai (UAE). With the takeover, around 40 employees will join Emons.
The international orientation of the Emons company is continued with this step across the Atlantic.
Emons Spedition, based in Cologne, is a well-established and globally operating transport and logistics company with high quality and environmental standards. Ever since the company was set up in 1928, the name Emons has stood for reliable and flexible transport and logistics services, and one of Germany’s few medium-sized, independent logistics networks. Their more than 2,600 employees at 98 locations worldwide managed around 4.2 million shipments in 2016 and generated sales of EUR 471 million.
