Ethnic food producer renews XPO contract

Daloon Foods, the producer of frozen ethnic and meat-free products which is part of the Izico group, has renewed its contract with XPO Logistics.

XPO currently handles Izico’s inbound product clearance, storage, repacking, order preparation, consolidation and outbound transport of some 700 pallets weekly at XPO’s temperature-controlled warehouse in Easton.

The shared-user facility offers flexible capacity to meet Izico’s seasonal requirements for stocking, staffing and transport. XPO will perform co-packing as a value-added service under the new contract.

“We are a rapidly growing business with an expanding base of customers. XPO’s flexibility and ability to grow with us has enabled us to strengthen our product range for both consumers and foodservice trade partners,” said Jan te Voert, group purchasing manager, Izico.

“The XPO team has played a significant role in helping us deliver a consistent experience in order fulfilment, and we’re delighted to see this collaboration extended.”

Richard Cawston, XPO’s managing director–supply chain, said: “Over the past eight years, we’ve worked closely with Daloon (Izico) to support the growth of their supply chain and realise efficiencies of scale. We’re excited by the opportunity to extend our partnership and support Izico’s continued success in the UK.”
