European Gateway Services achieves AEO status

To ensure safe supply chains, several European Gateway Services hinterland routes are now fully AEO certified from start to finish

On May 26, Dutch Customs officially awarded European Gateway Services the status of Authorised Economic Operator (AEO). This means that European Gateway Services can benefit from a significant simplification of customs procedures and the organisation can offer its clients optimal services at all times. In addition, several European Gateway Services hinterland routes are now fully AEO certified from start to finish. This ensures reliable and safe supply chains.

As a subsidiary of ECT, European Gateway Services offers efficient and sustainable hinterland transport. European Gateway Services has a growing network of inland terminals across Europe. Through high-frequency rail and inland shipping connections, these terminals are connected with deepsea terminals in Rotterdam and other ports.

The AEO certification is the next step in European Gateway Services’ provision of services. As previously in Rotterdam the ECT Delta Terminal and Euromax Terminal Rotterdam were already awarded the AEO distinction and in the hinterland also the inland terminals MCT Moerdijk, TCT Venlo, DeCeTe Duisburg and TCT Belgium have the AEO status, through European Gateway Services clients on these routes can make maximum use of the simplification of customs procedures and reliable supply chains.

As part of European Gateway Services, Maasvlakte Transport was also awarded AEO certification today. As a transport company, Maasvlakte Transport is specialised in transport over short distances, especially between the deepsea terminals on the Maasvlakte and the customs scan, distribution centres and warehouses in the immediate vicinity. The AEO status will ensure further streamlining of this transport.
