Fortec member KB Transport Solutions takes West Midlands shed
KB Transport Solutions has taken a 40,000sq ft warehouse in Nuneaton, West Midlands.
The property on the Centrovell Trading Estate is owned by the Wigley Group which invested £1.8 million in the facility.
KB Transport Solutions has taken the warehouse on a long term lease in order to accommodate the growth of its warehousing and distribution services.
The opening of an additional unit comes in the 10th year of KB Transport Solutions, whose main site at Sandy Lane Industrial Estate in Coventry is also owned by The Wigley Group. The 3PL joined the Fortec pallet network in September 2018.
Alan Mohomed, finance director at KB Transport Solutions, said: “We recently secured several major contracts, which meant that we needed more space to increase capacity and maintain our high levels of service to both new and existing customers.
“We currently employ 52 people and this expansion will open up new job opportunities as we look to step up our operations further off the back of the 10th anniversary we celebrated in May.”
The company specialises in pallet distribution, warehouse storage, logistics and transport services in the West Midlands and throughout the UK.
James Davies, managing director of The Wigley Group, said: “This unit was a natural addition to our portfolio as we already own Centrovell Trading Estate, a site we acquired in 2016.
“We completed the deal in March just prior to the Coronavirus lockdown and have since negotiated a long-term lease with KB Transport Solutions. It is a positive sign for the local economy that deals of this nature are still being done in this unprecedented time.
The location of Centrovell Trading Estate, which is close to the heart of the region’s transport network, makes it an attractive site. It is home to Britannia Tyres, Freeman and Proctor, and Caterers Supplies, and two adjacent units of 6,000 sq ft and 15,000 sq ft have just become available.
Manchester-based Zaman Roberts acted as agent for The Wigley Group in the acquisition of the unit.
The two available units at Centrovell Trading Estate in Caldwell Road are available through joint agents Bromwich Hardy and Avison Young.
