120 new jobs in the area of Sattledt: Frigologo builds state-of-the-art food logistics centre in Austria for around EUR 17 million

The Salzburg-based food logistics specialist Frigologo builds a future oriented storage and transshipment point for food, directly at the junction of motorways “Voralpenkreuz”. On an area of about 10,000 m² chocolate, meat, dairy, convenience and other products can be stored product exactly and energy efficiently in four separate temperature zones from -28 ° C to +18 ° C from March for the first time. With the investment of EUR 17 million up to 120 new jobs will be created in the region.

Food producers and trade increasingly require precise adherence to product storage and transport temperatures from their logistics providers. Frigologo has recognized this trend and is now creating the necessary prerequisites to meet this requirement of the market. After a year of planning and projecting a modern storage and transshipment center is currently being built in Sattledt, with four separate temperature zones.

As of March 2015 designated halls will be available at the new location of Frigologo, offering -28 ° C for frozen products, + 4 ° C for milk, meat and convenience products, 15 to 18 ° C for chocolate, bread and pastries, as well as a hall for products without refrigeration (eg canned food, pasta).

For Frigologo the new food logistics centre in Sattledt is an urgently needed, but also future-oriented capacity expansion. At the new location they want to serve existing customers as well as new clients. Fritz Herzog, founder of the company, says: „We assume this offer to enable us to grow by a double digit figure in the next years.“

Established in 1991 Frigologo based in Seekirchen, Salzburg, counts among the biggest full range providers in temperature-controlled food logistics in Central and Eastern Europe, specialising on the ranges between +2°C and +8°C as well as +12°C to +18°C in the central and east European region of the European Union.

Operating locations in Seekirchen, Vienna, Linz, Graz, Budapest, Ljubljana and Rijeka the comapny offers all services of a comprehensive logistics network, ranging from production to trade: transport, warehousing, picking, cross docking and value added services. Every year they handled about 600,000 shipments with a total weight of almost 540,000 tonnes on behalf of about 800 customers. More than 250 employees generate annual sales of mora than EUR 50 million.
