Gefco starts operating national branch in Croatia

New location of Gefco, industrial logistics specialist, about to expand land and sea transport in the Balkans

The Gefco group, European market leader in automotive logistics and international reference for industrial logistics, entered the Croatian market under their own name. The new national branch based in Zagreb benefits from the strategic situation close to several borders, combined with customs processes that have been simplified last summer (key word: EU-access) to expand land and sea freight transport in the Balkans.

„With the national company in Croatia Gefco strengthen their presence in the region and make access easier for international companies to the group’s value-added services,“ says Tihomir Skrtic. The Croatian, previously business development manager at Gefco Slovenia, will assume the management of the new subsidiary.

Gefco Croatia and PSA Peugeot Citroën have signed an agreement about logistics for new vehicles and vehicle parts, and have won several local partners. The company also provides services for distribution, automotive logistics, customs clearance as well as land and sea transport with part and full loads for customers in Croatia, Bulgaria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Romania and Serbia.

In line with the group’s growth strategy diversification of activities for companies from various sectors such as bedding, energy or production industries have priority for the subsidiary. An office in Rijeka is planned to be opened in 2014, strengthening overseas operations.
