Gerrard Steel appoints GEFCO as 3PL

Wine merchant Gerrard Steel has appointed GEFCO as its new logistics provider, with GEFCO seeking to expand its involvement in the wine sector.

The logistics firm will be responsible for the transport of wine from old and new world markets to Gerrard Steel’s Liverpool warehouse. GEFCO will use full truck load, rail freight and sea freight, and will carry 6.5 per cent more per load by rail than the wine merchant’s previous full load.

Jackie Sumner, logistics coordinator at Gerrard Seel, said: “GEFCO has provided us with outstanding multimodal solutions that fit our needs exactly. Their expertise and global network have been invaluable in delivering the products on time and on budget.”
