Goodman spec development for Coventry

Goodman has secured planning permission for a 120,000 sq ft pre-let for Covrad Heat Transfer at Lyons Park, Coventry.

It has also got permission for five industrial and distribution units of 30,000-50,000 sq ft. They are due to be completed in spring 2015.

The Covrad development will be used as B2 industrial space and is expected to create and additional 60 jobs.

Charles Crossland, managing director of Goodman UK Logistics, said: “In this part of the UK there is a lack of supply of Grade A industrial space. The development of these units will give local companies the opportunity to expand while also attracting other businesses into the region.”

There remains 880,000 sq ft of land available for design and build opportunities at Lyons Park. The park is located close to the A45 trunk road linking Coventry to Birmingham. It offers easy access to the M45, M6 and M1 motorways and is within four hours’ drive of most of England and Wales.

Goodman recently leased 323,000 sq ft of distribution space in Wolverhampton to online sports retailer Wiggle, and earlier this month 22 acres of land at Grange Park, Northampton, with which it intends to develop two distribution centres totalling 450,000 sq ft.
