Groundbreaking ceremony for the new logistics centre Graz Nord

The Sager Group, a site developer, celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the logistics center in Graz last week, in the presence of MMag.a Eibinger-Miedl, economic councilor and Helmut Michael Salomon, Mayor. On a total surface of 20,000m², a logistics hall of 10,000m² will be built in Peggau, Styria, and shall be completed by the end of 2017. The fully developed industrial estate is to include logistics warehouses and open terminal space, as well as a covered rail siding for block trains and direct access to the S35 main road and A9 motorway.

After completion of the first construction phase of the Graz Nord logistics centre by the end of this year, the turnkey ready facility will be handed over to logistics customers. The first major customer is Mayr-Melnhof Karton Gesellschaft m.b.H., who has signed a long-term leasing contract. The traditional company has a production site at a (rail-) distance of 9 km and intends to use the new location as a further external warehouse. From the new site their products will be distributed by truck, explains Wolfgang Pölzl of the Sager Group to the OVZ logistics magazine. In total, 80,000 m² of open space is available at the location.

The Sager Group is a partner in construction (structural engineering, underground engineering and industrial engineering), real estate renting, real estate selling and construction specific project development. The company is located in Peggau, in the north of Graz. Recent projects are developed in the region of Graz and deal with logistics and real estate development.
