HarperCollins Glasgow depot gets £100,000 revamp

Conveyor Networks has completed a £100,000 manual pack loop installation for book distributor HarperCollins at its Glasgow depot.

The new installation was integrated into the distribution centre’s existing system. The distribution centre currently handles around 50 million books in stock and dispatches from 1.5 million to 3 million books per week. The new installation will increase manual pack capabilities by 50 per cent, increasing the book distributors dispatch volumes across its UK operations.

“Business growth and our appetite to pack and dispatch more volumes has put increasing pressure on our existing infrastructure. Conveyor Networks has designed a solution that not only provides more capability, it will also increase our throughput. The knowledge and expertise that Conveyor Networks has brought to the project has been invaluable,” said HarperCollins Publishers procurement manager, Scott McAninch.
