IKEA expands DX contracts to £19m a year

IKEA has awarded DX a three year contract to provide logistics services for customer deliveries, which with existing contracts takes the value of DX’s work for IKEA to £19 million a year.

DX will operate dedicated service centres, situated in close proximity to each IKEA store, to support the enlarged contract and will offer same-day two man deliveries, advanced booking and a returns service.

The operator already provides IKEA with a bespoke logistics service to support the retailer’s online sales in two regions and its store business in Reading. This new deal means DX will support IKEA’s sales across seven additional stores.

Stuart Godman, managing director of DX Freight, said: “We are delighted to have expanded and extended the services that we provide to IKEA. This contract is further evidence of DX Logistics’s ability to deliver high volumes to an exacting standard, and we look forward to continuing to deliver an excellent service to IKEA and all our customers.”
