Insolvency of Transeuropa Roock forwarding company

Transpeuropa Roock slides into insolvency due to loosing clients and bad debt losses

A new case of insolvency happened in the Austrian transport logistics branch. On 8 March the bankruptcy proceedings about the assets of the Rudolf Roock Transeuropa Haus-Haus-Speditions-KG were opened at the Handelsgericht Wien (commercial court). The insolvency affects 300 creditors (incl. 42 employees). According to the KSV 1870 (Austrian association for the protection of creditors) liabilities amount to around EUR 1.2 million. Lawyer Gerhard Bauer was appointed as liquidator by the competent court. Creditors can submit claims until 19 April 2010.

As the company states they had to face the loss of a major client in national, and one in international transport in 2009. Apart from the effects of the general economic crisis, bad debt losses due to insolvencies of several contract partners have also burdened the tense liquidity. Negotiations with parties interested in taking a holding and injecting fresh capital were unsuccessful. In the meantime bankruptcy proceedings were also opened about the personally liable associate company, Franz Jura Gesellschaft m.b.H., which has no own operations.

According to the bankruptcy petition they intend to continue forwarding business operations. Therefore the enterprise shall be minimised rigorously and focus on profitable business fields. This includes a massive reduction of the staff as well.
