Kuehne + Nagel names Dr. Detlef Trefzger as the new CEO

Kuehne + Nagel: Dr. Detlef Trefzger becomes CEO with immediate effect and continues to hold responsibility for the business unit Contract & Integrated Logistics
 
The Board of Directors of Kuehne + Nagel International AG announced yesterday the appointment of Dr. Detlef Trefzger as the Company’s new CEO. The decision, which was unanimous, followed a careful and comprehensive selection process involving external and internal candidates, all under the supervison of the Chairman of the Nomination and Compensation Committee, Dr. Joerg Wolle. 
 
Detlef Trefzger, since March 1, 2013 member of the Kuehne + Nagel Management Board and responsible for Contract & Integrated Logistics, will take up his new function with immediate effect. He will continue to hold responsibility for the business unit Contract & Integrated Logistics until further notice.
 
Prior to joining Kuehne + Nagel, Detlef Trefzger was member of the Executive Board of Schenker AG, Essen, Germany, from 2004 to October 2012. He held worldwide responsibility for the business unit Contract Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and most recently he additionally was in charge of Global Airfreight and Global Oceanfreight. 
 
Detlef Trefzger started his career at Siemens AG. In 1994 he moved to the logistics sector, initially as Principal at Roland Berger, Munich. In 1999 he was appointed CFO and member of the Executive Board of Schenker & CO AG, Vienna, Austria.
