Lehnkering Road Logistics starts transporting liquid gas

Lehnkering expands its portfolio through designated company for liquid gas transport

With immediate effect the Lehnkering Road Logistics division is expanding its services and has now started transporting liquid gas (Liquefied Petroleum Gas or LPG). A new company has been set up in the shape of Lehnkering Gas Logistics AB and it will initially handle the distribution of LPG for a well-known international energy supplier in southern Sweden. A fleet of special vehicles was put into operation to handle this long-term contract. In organisational terms Lehnkering Gas Logistics is linked to the Swedish company FoodTankers AB, which is also part of the Road Logistics division. The new service provider wants to make a clear distinction between the transport of foodstuffs and liquid gas

When transporting LPG – a mixture of propane and butane – it is necessary to keep the temperature down to at least -42 degrees Celsius. All the employees have obtained special qualifications because of the unusual equipment that is required and the demands of handling LPG properly.
