Linde Material Handling UK delivering ‘high volumes’ during COVID-19 pandemic

Linde Material Handling UK has said it is pulling on resources across its network to deliver high volumes of forklift trucks to customers across the country, as it copes with the demands of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It said that in the last two weeks, its supermarket customers had seen a peak in demand that you would be expect at Christmas but without the four months build up in planning. To that end Linde said it had been “working round the clock” preparing trucks from its 10,000-strong rental fleet for the retail sectors specific needs.

Eamonn Parker, vice-president of sales and marketing at Linde, said: “Having the largest capacity of rental trucks in the industry means we can react to situations where equipment is required at short notice and as we find ourselves in this unusual situation we have met the challenge “

“In order to support the industry through this time we have pulled on resources across our entire network to work together and deliver high volumes of trucks to all parts of the country, our Wellingborough depot alone prepared 100 trucks for despatch in just one week”

The materials handling specialist said that the health, safety and wellbeing of its employees remained paramount and it had implemented measures to ensure it keep them safe – policies, including social distancing and hand sanitising, which were being  reviewed on a daily basis.

Parker said that he wanted to offer his gratitude to Linde’s operational employees, including service engineers, spare parts and logistics teams who had remain active and on the front line.
